Vehicle Modifications
Vehicle Modifications
The NDIS does not generally fund a vehicle for a participant – but may fund modifications to a vehicle the participant regularly uses or would use to address their transport needs.
Vehicle modifications can include changes to the structure of a vehicle, such as adding hand controls for steering and braking, or installing equipment like ramps or lifts.
These modifications might include:
– making vehicles more accessible for people with disabilities (for example, installing hand controls so that people with limited mobility can drive)
– making it easier to get in and out of vehicles (for example, installing wheelchair lifts)
